The Jefferson park and recreation department is once again holding its holiday food drive to benefit the Greene County Christian Action Resource Center food pantry.
Now through Dec 31, the daily fee for non-members will be waived for anyone who brings at least one non-perishable item for the food pantry. At least one item per person, per day is requested. Members are also invited to bring items for the food pantry.
JPRD will host free activities from 1 to 3 pm for students ages 8-13 Dec. 27-29. Games and activities will be at the suggestion of attendees, with floor hockey, scooters, volleyball, treadwall climbing, scooter games and basketball all possibilities. Craft supplies will be available, and there will be movies to watch and the X-Box Kinect will be out.
There is no charge for any of the activities, but non-members are asked to bring an item for the food pantry in lieu of a daily pass.
